Washington : A new study conducted by researchers at the University of Tennesse suggests that eating yoghurt helps fat loss in the body.
The researchers found that obese adults who ate three servings of fat-free yoghurt a day as part of a reduced-calorie diet lost 22 per cent more body fat than those who simply cut off calories and did not bone up on calcium. Yoghurt eaters also lost 81 per cent more fat in the stomach area than non-yoghurt eaters.
"Not only did yoghurt help the study participants lose more weight - the average weight loss was 6 kg - they were about twice as effective as mantaining lean muscle mass. This is a critical issue when dieting - you want to lose fat, not muscle. Muscle helps burn calories, but it is often compromised during weight-loss," said lead researcher Micheal Zemel.

The women in Kerala in India use the following beauty recipe for long lustrous hair :
- Extract the milk of a coconut without using water. First use a scraper to scrape it into a reasonable quantity and then grind it to extract the milk.
- If a coconut scraper is unavailable, then you can also extract the entire fruit from the shell with a knife by slicing pieces off it and then grind these pieces for its milk.
- Now boil this milk till it's oil is obtained. Use this fresh oil for the hair.
- You can also add essence of any flower to this oil to make it more aromatic. The Jasmine flower is a popular choice for a good aroma.
- Do not make large quantities of this oil, but just enough to last for a week. Fresh oil is more effective.
- And if you cannot handle oily hair during the day, then use it in the night and wash it off in the morning with a good shampoo.
