Protuberance of fleshy tissue that is found in the nose above the throat.

Symptoms : When adenoids are infected, they swell and block the nasal passages causing snoring, breathing through the mouth and nasal voice due to the blocking of secretions in the nose. It can produce nasal infections (rhinitis) and this can move into the middle ear (earache).

Causes : The inflammation of the lymphatic ganglion (adenoids) is principally caused by an infection.
