Neem Tree Leaves

In the ancient times when the Vedas were composed, the Neem plant was called the sarva roga nivarini, (one that can cure all ailments and ills) and continued to be regarded so for several centuries. All parts of the plant are known to be an effective antidote for a myriad of ailments.

Scientifically, Neem is known to help control diseases like malaria, cancer and even AIDS, combat desetification and deforestation, reduce excessive global temperature and even help in population control. One of the most powerful blood purifiers and detoxifiers in Ayurvedic usage, neem is often used to maintain a healthy skin. There is also plenty of scientific backup for neem's immune enhancement.

Home remedy for pimples

Mix together gram flour, turmeric powder, crushed neem leaves and milk to a smooth paste. Apply to the face and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes. Wash off with shikakai and not soap.

Home remedy for tooth-ache

If you have a tooth-ache, boil a few 'neem' leaves in two cups water and rinse your mouth a few times with this water. You will get immediate relief from pain.

Home remedy for burns

A paste of buttermilk and neem leaf or, better still, pouring cold water over the burns is an ideal remedy for burns.

Home Remedy for Diabetes

An effective control for diabetes is as follows: Dry some neem leaves in the shade for 2 or 3 days, powder them and store in a jar. The diabetic patient should take one teaspoonful of this powder together with a few pinches of powdered jeera (cumin) and voma (ajwain) dissolved in hot milk before going to bed in the night for 30 days or more.

A Home Remedy for Scabies

Apply a paste made of neem leaves and turmeric mixed in mustard oil on those areas affected by scabies.

An useful remedy for cure of wounds caused by cuts, hits, falls etc.

- Take equal quantities of neem leaves and gingelly leaves.

- Fry them in pure gingelly oil.

- Then grind them finely with the same gingelly oil to form an ointment.

- This ointment is extremely useful in the cure of wounds caused by cuts, hits, falls and various other wounds, boils and ulcers.

A simple home remedy for Athelete's Foot

- Make a paste of Neem Leaves and Turmeric paste.

- Apply this twice a day on the afflicted foot area.
