Home remedy for Cold

Mix 300 gm. of 'amla' powder and 100 gm. ginger powder. Take one tsp. of this mixture with a  little water in the morning and evening everyday. It will protect you against cold and improve digestion. Honey can also be added to make a perfect health drink.

In case of cold, take one teaspoon juice of tulsi leaves with a little honey. In fact, a few leaves of tulasi taken daily is the best way to avoid a lot of ailments.

Simple Remedy to keep the colds at bay



- Take dry ginger and long pepper in equal quantity (100 gms each).

- Grind it to a fine powder

- Mix it with about 100 ml of pure jaggery powder (now available in the market).

- Store the resulting powder in an airtight bottle.

- Take half a teaspoon by slowly licking it. You can add a little honey to it to sweeten it and make it easier to eat it especially for kids.

To prevent a Cold

Wash a few tulsi leaves (basil leaves), and put them in a jug / container containing drinking water.

They will give a pleasant smell to the water and also help in preventing  a cold.

Remedy for a running nose

To stop constant or ceaseless flow of water out of the nose, extract the juice of "garike" grass and let it into the nostrils drop by drop.

A couple of drops would suffice. Remember to use a dropper for the same as excessive medication might cause more irritation.

- Raw onions eaten twice or thrice a day will help to clear stuffed nostrils resulting from ordinary cold and will also give relief to patients of asthma, nasal and bronchial catarrh.

- Also during susceptible days when the patient is likely to be afflicted with cold. i.e. days when heavy weather changes are likely, chilly or musky days etc., keep a cut onion in the bed-room. This will help to prevent infection of cold and cough.
