LUCKNOW : The Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to give its nod to the mega Integrated Rail-cum-Bus Transit Project (IRBTP) for National Capital Region (NCR) to connect Delhi with neighbouring cities of the State.

             

               The State Cabinet approved the UP government's participation in the project, sanctioning Rs 110 crore as State's share in the scheme.

               The Chief Secretary, Mr V.K.Mittal, said here the project, started by NCR Planning Board, deal with connecting Delhi and nearby towns through IRBTP costing around Rs 2,239 crore.

               For the project, Rs 1,120 crore would be generated through loans, while rest would be equity of the Railway and Urban Development ministries and the government of UP, Delhi and Haryana.

                The total share of the three states would be Rs 374 crore.Under the project a total of 38.18 km of two broad gauge railway lines would be laid for high-speed trains.About a dozen stations would also be built through this new track.

                  The network will connect Shahadra-Sahibabad-Ghaziabad (14.92 km) and Sahibabad-Tilak Bridge-Minto bridge (17.36 km).
