New Delhi : Delhi airport’s new domestic departure terminal, 1D, that became operational recently was well received by fliers, save as a few hiccups.

The swank terminal is well-built and spacious, far cry from the overcrowded 1B, as only three airlines are operating from it at present. Several more will shift to the terminal in the next few days. For the next year or so, domestic flights will depart from terminals 1A and 1D.

 

There were a few teething troubles in the morning, when several passengers ended up at the old departure terminal. Also, as many signages in the front of the entry gates had not been put up, there was confusion on which passengers were to enter from where. But the breathtaking view from the terminal, overlooking the main runway, left many awestruck. “We can see the planes taking off. This is how it is at many airports across the world,” said Anita Vyas, a Kochi-bound passenger.
