NEW DELHI (AP): Striking pilots at India's Jet Airways offered Wednesday to hold talks with management to end a two-day long standoff that has stranded nearly 13,000 passengers after hundreds of domestic and international flights were canceled.

Nearly 450 of more than 700 Jet pilots reported sick Wednesday for a second day to protest the firing of two colleagues, said Naresh Goyal, chairman of the privately owned airline.

The Press Trust of India news agency reported that Jet fired two pilots Wednesday for joining in the strike. That report could not immediately be confirmed. Goyal blasted the pilots for staying away from work.

"They are not sick. They are trying to sabotage the operations," he told reporters.

He said, though, that he had already offered to hold talks Thursday with pilots' representatives.
