Bangalore : The Karnataka Government will take steps to strengthen the regional air nfrastructure within the State by developing airports and air strips at Mangalore, Bellary, Hubli and Gulbarga, according to the State Industry and Infrastructure Minister, Mr. P.G.R. Sindhia.

These would form the government's plank for drawing investments into the State, he said.  The Bangalore international airport is likely to begin civil works in the next 2-3 months. Mangalore would get its extended runway, Hubli the night landing facility by January while the air services between Bellary and Bangalore were likely to begin shortly by using the Jindal's air strip at Bellary. There is a plan to build an airport at Gulbarga, the northern home district of the Chief Minister, Mr. Dharam Singh.
