The Foundation for the Promotion of Film Arts and Crafts is organising a week long film festival of foreign language Oscar award winning films from February 20th 2004. The screenings will be held at Chandan Cinema, Juhu till February 26th 2004.

Thirty-five foreign language Oscar winning films including Bicycle Thief, Life is Beautiful, All about my Mother, Rashoman are scheduled to be screened in five shows per day.

The Foundation Film Festival of Oscar winning foreign films has been rescheduled from March 5th to March 11th 2004, to complete censorship formalities and incorporate a better crop of films. The festival will feature 35 films including Vittorio De Sica's The Bicycle Thief, akira Kurosawa's Rashomon and Dersu Uzala, Federico Fellini's La Strada, the Nights of Cabiria, 8 1/2 and Amarcord, Costa-Gavras's "Z", Ingmar Bergman's The Virgin spring, Bille August's Pelle the Conqueror, Gabrille Salavatore's Mediterraneo, Jan Sverak' Kolya and Robert Benigni's Life is Beautiful. a highlight of the festival is Russian director Sergei Bondarchuk's epic version of Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace (Voyna i Mir).
