Bangalore : It is time for yet another airline - Air One Feeder airline - to launch it's flights from Bangalore. The airline is expected to start operations from mid-August this year.

New Delhi : The number of flights between India and UK is set to go up with the two Governments signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently. According to this, India will be able to operate 56 flights per week from Mumbai and Delhi to London - Heathrow and unlimited flights from India to the UK on all other routes.

Mumbai : Northwest Airlines (NWA) has filed a reques with the US Department of Transportation to expand its operations in India. As first priority, the airline intends to offer a service from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport to Bangalore (via Amsterdam) beginning October, subject to government approval.

New Delhi : International air fares between India and France are now set to cruise to a lower altitude with the two countries agreeing to liberalise bilateral air links. The countries have agreed to more than double the number of flights between India and France to 35 services a week from 14 now, a move that will lead to more seat availability and lower fares.

Chennai : Delta Airlines Inc., the American carrier, plans to introduce daily direct services between Chennai and New York through Paris beginning May 11, 2005. Delta will be the first American carrier to operate services to Chennai. Mr. Dieter Hofele, General Manager - India, Delta Air Lines, told press persons that the airline had been planning to connect Chennai for some time.

New Delhi : Air travellers, from the eastern part of India and other parts of India can look forward to more flexibility in getting lower rate tickets, with the country's only low-cost airline, Air Deccan, all set to not only add more flights but also more destinations to it's route network.

New Delhi : As a follow-up to the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh's assurance during his visit to North East recently, Guwahati has being placed on the international map from January 1, 2005.

New Delhi : The Union cabinet recently approved a proposal to designate Srinagar airport as 'international'. Civil aviation minister Praful Patel replied in the affirmative when asked if the proposal was approved at the meeting of the Cabinet.

Pune : With the airlines offering concession for domestic or international travelling, the Indian Railways is not the one to lag behind. To ward off increasing competition from airlines, Indian Railways is all set to come out with a frequent buyers programme in August.
